Karolyn Moore - Director of Supportive Services

Karolyn is the Director of Supportive Services at the McPherson Housing Coalition (MHC). She oversees
the Emergency Solutions Grant, Tenant-based Rental assistance program and the Community Services Block Grant that MHC manages. She also serves as the secretary for the MHC Board.

Karolyn has also been active in the development of the Oak Harbor non-congregate shelter cottages overseeing the construction of the cottages. She is also the property manager for the cottages, making sure families are following the rules to ensure the privacy and safety of those staying there. While families are staying in the
shelter, she offers them mental health services, physical health appointments, job training, education opportunities, and legal assistance using partnerships with local providers.

Karolyn comes to the McPherson Housing Coalition with lived experience, she grew up in poverty and she understands the struggles that many of the families face in trying to move
out of poverty and change the trajectory of their children’s lives into a
better future. Helping families change their lives is very important to her.
She has always enjoyed helping others, and has been involved with other
community outreach programs  for several years, one in particular, accepts furniture from people who no longer need it and give it to people who need furniture but can’t afford it.

Karolyn and her husband, Kerrey, have been married for 40+ years and together they have 4 children and 7 grandchildren.
